A knife for the perfect slice! Do you hate trying to cut your fresh loaf of artisan sourdough bread? Does your current knife smash your loaf more than it cuts? Are your slices annoyingly uneven? Your days of frustration are over!
Our bow knife is the perfect solution to all of these problems. Made by our craftsmen, our version of this old design is highly refined and ergonomic. The unique design of a bow knife allows us to use a blade that is insandely sharp and will stay sharp for many years to come. The spine of the knife acts as a guide as you cut your slice, helping you get a straighter slice of bread, no matter the thickness.
We now sell this popular product in an XL version (2.5" longer than our Standard knife). When would you want the XL version? If you use larger round bannetons, then we prefer to use this version.
We also love to use our bow knife when cutting things like smoked brisket, pork ribs, tomatoes, cheese, and any other hard to cut items.
Handmade from American hardwoods - your choice of Walnut, Cherry, or Maple. The blade is a hardened high carbon steel, installed with beautiful brass screws. It can be ordered as right or left handed.
Pro Tip: When cutting, use a long back and forth stroke with light pressure. No need to press down hard like you do with your dull knife. Using the method, the knife will do the work and slice right through.
